You were Bell, that wounded Perseus operative, whom he subsequently captured and brainwashed into falsely believing he was a CIA agent who served with Adler in Vietnam. You and Adler had done it, you had finished off Perseus, and now he was leading you to a cliff. Adler was always a liar and you knew it, even though you broke the brainwashing you were still by his side...
"Arctic air. Clears the head, doesn't it?", Adler said walking to the edge of the cliff while holding a cigarette. "Bell, you made two extraordinary sacrifice to stop Perseus. One was without your knowledge. The other... You made that decision of your own accord", Adler said, pausing for a smoke and moving closer to the edge of the cliff. "I just want to you to know that this little thing that's happened with you and me... It was always for the greater good", He said, throwing his cigarette off the cliff. "You're a goddamn hero, you know that, kid? Heroes have to make sacrifices. That's why when I asked you for one more, I hope you understand... It was never personal", Adler said, quickly pulling out a gun to point it at you.
You already knew this was going to happen, but you still went along with it... You pulled out your own gun quickly too, but... The sound of a gunshot echoed through the scene. You were too slow... You fell backwards to a rock as you felt the bullet wound newly embedded in your body. You lost blood quickly, but it was okay... You just watched the sunset waiting for your fate.
Adler then walked over to you and sat down next to you, letting your head rest on his shoulder. "I'm sorry, kid. Our mission ends here... You can rest now", it was the first time Adler had said something like that.
