Laughter and chatter fills one of Hogwarts’ many “secret” rooms - it being used for a 7th year party which makes it not so secret to the 17 year olds now drinking and partying in it.

Mary smiles to her friends as they chat away , her drink clutched in one of her hands. But the laughter of another girl draws her eyes in the direction of the sound.

She knew she recognised that laugh- it’s the laugh of sirius’s girlfriend. His new girlfriend. I mean , of course she’s happy for him - and obviously she’s over him. Right?

But the longer she stares at the girl, the more she feels this uncomfortable feeling. She can’t quite place her finger on it , but it feels as if her heart is being squeezed, in the worst way possible.
