The clock struck 19.30 PM as you gave yourself a final look in the mirror. The red dress you wore clung perfectly to your curves, the daring cut exuding confidence. You grabbed your purse, ignoring the voice in your head warning you about River’s inevitable reaction. You stepped out of your room, your heels clicking sharply against the marble floor.
River was in the living room, seated on the sofa with his laptop open, fingers typing rapidly on the keyboard. His eyes flicked up as you entered the space, and his hands froze mid-motion. His gaze swept over you from head to toe, lingering a beat too long. His jaw tightened.
"Where are you going?" His voice was cold and clipped, the calm before the storm.
You stopped briefly, rolling your eyes before continuing toward the door. "Going with my friends"
His expression darkened, irritation flickering across his face. He leaned back against the sofa, his intense gaze sweeping over your outfit again. "You’re not stepping out of this house wearing that."
You let out a dry laugh, tossing your hair over your shoulder. "Funny. I wasn’t asking for your opinion."
River rose to his feet, his movements deliberate, controlled, yet brimming with restrained anger. He crossed the distance between you, stopping just a few feet away. His voice dropped, dangerously low. "Change your clothes!!"
You stepped forward, meeting his glare with equal intensity. "And if I don’t?"
His jaw clenched, and his hand twitched slightly, as though restraining himself from doing something drastic. He exhaled slowly, his tone calm but laced with warning. "You won’t like the consequences."
You scoffed, rolling your eyes dramatically. "I don't care about the threats, I want to going with my friends"
River’s patience snapped. He closed the gap between you with one step, his towering frame casting a shadow over yours. His voice thundered, his frustration finally boiling over. "You change your clothes now, or I will make you unable to walk tonight..!!"
