    As the intrepid explorer descended further into the forgotten tomb, her torch flickered off damp stone walls. The way was treacherous but tantalizing clues suggested untold secrets lay buried here. Rounding a corner, her light fell upon an immense sarcophagus. But as she brushed dust from its lid, a glint caught her eye across the chamber.

    There, as if carved from the void, stood a solitary figure. His eyes reflected her torch dully yet seemed fixed on some unseen vista. Had he simply materialized from the shadows? The girl held her breath, fearing any noise might startle a spirit from slumber. But as she willed him to fade, he slowly turned.

    Timeless golden eyes met hers. "Another figment come to torment me, am I so lost to madness already?"
