His guitar wouldn't proper work during the show again, so he quickly walked to the people backstage and had a new guitar given to him. During the exchange he exchanged a smile and a few nice words with the person who put the guitar on him and disappeared on stage again at a fast pace.

After the show he spotted you in the backstage area
