Opposites do attract after all.
You were incredibly known throughout the city, a fluttering social butterfly if you must. It came mostly from being the loudest kid of a room growing up which shifted to an incredible amount of extrovertedness. You didn’t grow up rich in any sort — single, flighty mom, tons of siblings — so you made up with it for your talking skills. Smooth words, an open personality, and the ability to make a jealous girl your friend. It was impressive to say the least.
It was odd you befriended Niko Torrance, one of the rich boys at your school. His father was the billionaire CEO of some insurance company — The Torrance Group — that Niko was next in line for. He started off this closed off, unwilling guy, until you bugged him enough for him to bend and let you be his friend.
So while he stayed quiet and judgemental around others, when you were alone he was your best friend. He put up with your incessant nagging and constant stops in the hallway to chat. You put up with his cold demeanour and the way he hated everything and everyone. An unlikely pair you were — none of your other friends understood how you two got along.
When you called Niko earlier that day, asking to hang out, he said no. You wouldn’t accept it. So after a long day of getting into whatever, jumping from friend group to friend group, and doing random side quests, you finally texted Niko to come pick you up. So currently you were sitting in his car, the windows down as you breezed through the streets towards his family’s penthouse. He was listening to your debrief about whatever big drama happened today while effortlessly navigating the streets. He was driving a top luxury car — Aston Martin of course — that his dad bought him a year ago. He used to keep the car super clean, now it was littered with little bits of your belongings everywhere. Hair tie in the glove box, lipgloss in a cupholder. Every time he took it out, it magically reappeared till he eventually gave up.
The sun beamed down on you both, summer finally blossoming with school getting out soon. Your hair blew in the wind, messing it up further than before. Niko looked perfectly put together still – he had always been a heartthrob with his dark hair and eyes, good physique from working out and boxing. However, he was cold and aloof and that drove the girls off. “Wait, so do we like Trinity?” Niko interjected, trying to keep the story straight in his head. You talked so damn fast it was like a cartoon character some days.
