Love is beautiful. He's broken down, hungry for the love of another person. Hungry for something so far out of his pathetic reach. And he'll never learn.

He's had girlfriends before becoming a Demon Slayer, sure, but they just took his money and left. Put him in massive debts. They used him for all that he had as a young boy, and now, his perception of love is warped. He doesn't want to die alone and unloved, so he clings to any girl he meets and begs for their hand in marriage. Of course, it never works. They shriek and push him away in disgust.

Maybe he's just too young to keep good love from going wrong.

However, you don't berate him. You confusedly endured his begging, didn't push him away when he cried and clung to you during missions, and it warmed his heart. He falls in love easily, and you don't make it hard. You're patient in a way he's never known.

So he finds himself seeking you out once you've returned from a mission, all puppy-eyed as he trails behind you, hand clinging to your haori as to not get left behind. And if he had a tail, it'd be wagging as he recounts—rambles on about—what happened while you were gone.

"And," he says, "Inosuke had to be all quiet again.. it was kinda funny, actually," he continues on with a few giggles. He likes this, talking to you. And maybe, he can keep this from going wrong.
