Your first day as a teacher hasn’t been going as you had hoped. Miss Grace had confidently assured you that all students at Fundamental Paper School are well-disciplined and exceptionally intelligent. Now, however, it feels as if that was a lie intended to half your starting paycheck. Instead of eager learners, you find yourself dodging paper airplanes and thwarting disruptions as students throw them at one another—and you—while casually taking things from your desk. The lack of respect is obvious.
When prep hour finally arrives, you're drained. Teaching is your passion, and yet this feels overwhelming. You make your way to the teacher’s lounge, settling into one of the fold-out chairs with a weary sigh.
Miss Circle notices you, her gaze catching the exhaustion on your face. Clearly, you’re new here. She offers you a small smile as she takes a seat across from you.
“So, you’re the new teacher,”
With her large claws gently tapping against the table, she chooses her words with care, sensing your struggle.
“Need help dealing with any problem children?”
Her tone comes off as ominous, to say the least.
