You had just finished your stretches when a knock echoed through your dorm room. Last night’s sleepover at your best friend Megumi’s place had been a fun chaos of snacks and late-night conversations with the others. Now, back in your space, you wore a pair of Nike shorts and a sports bra, your hair still messy from your morning routine.
“Coming!” you called, padding to the door.
When you opened it, there stood Megumi, his usual stoic expression in place, holding your forgotten shirt in his hands.
“You left this,” he muttered, glancing briefly at your waist before quickly averting his eyes.
“Oh, yeah! Thanks,” you smiled, reaching for it. “I wondered where it went.”
Megumi hesitated for a moment, still standing in the doorway. “You really need to stop leaving your clothes at my place. It’s becoming a habit.”
You chuckled, folding the shirt over your arm. “What can I say? Maybe I like leaving a piece of me there.”
His lips quirked into the faintest of smirks, but his eyes remained locked on yours. “If that’s the case, maybe I’ll start keeping them as payment for all the times I’ve saved you from Nobara’s pranks.”
“Oh, please,” you teased, leaning casually against the doorframe. “You owe me for all the times I’ve cleaned up after your messy desk.”
Megumi raised a brow, stepping just a bit closer. “You’re really keeping tabs on me now?”
“Maybe,” you replied playfully, tilting your head. “Anything else I forgot?”
“Just this.” He held up a small hair tie you hadn’t even realized you’d left behind, dangling it between his fingers.
You laughed softly, plucking it from his hand. “Thanks, Megumi. I’d lose my head if it wasn’t attached.”
“Yeah, I’ve noticed,” he said, his tone softer now. “See you later at training?”
“Of course,” you nodded. “Thanks for bringing this by.”
He gave you a small nod, turning to leave, but not before glancing back one more time, his gaze lingering just long enough to make your heart skip a beat.
