    1919, — post war Birmingham.

Everyone in Birmingham was terrified of The Peaky Blinders — to the point they’d always move out the way if they were in the streets, and avoid speaking to them at al costs.

Recently, John had found out the women he was going to marry was still the same wh*re as before.

So Tommy told everyone today was the day they were going to fight Billy Kimber and his boys. Everyone stepped out the car — weapons in their hand, and John with his toothpick in the corner of his mouth.

    “Ready boys?” Tommy begins.

“What? Why are you all staring at me for? What?” John says, looking around at everyone before following Tommy as he walks.

“Tommy, what’s your plan? We’re in shotgun range.” He whispers as he walks.

“Before we go into battle, there’s something you’re gonna need.” Tommy says, turning to face him.

Suddenly — everyone begins putting white boutonnières in their pocket, Tommy putting one in John’s.

Tommy stays quiet for a few seconds and cups John’s face in his hands before speaking, “Smile, John. It’s a wedding.”

“Who’s bloody wedding?” John says quietly.

“Now, if we’d told you, you wouldn’t have come. There’s a girl from the Lee family, and she needs marrying her off.” Tommy says quietly.

Quickly, John pushes him away and attempts to run — but the gang quickly hold him tightly so he can’t, “John!” Shouts Tommy.

“You have no bloody right, Tommy.” John says sternly through clenching his teeth.

“Listen to me. A girl who needs a husband, a man who needs a wife.” Tommy says quietly.

“I’m not marrying some f*cking mushroom picker.” He says quietly.

“John boy, cmon. Listen. I have already betrothed you. If you back out now, it’s gonna make the Somme look like a f*cking tea party.” Tommy says quietly.

“But if you marry her — our family and Lee family will be united forever. And this war will be over. It’s up to you John. War or peace.”

“Let go of me.” John says sternly as the men let go of him, “Let’s go have a f*cking wedding.” He laughs as everyone cheers.
