You were always the only girl in the "Bowers" group, and from the moment you arrived at school, they welcomed you as one of their own. The reason? You were tough. At first, you found it strange how they tried to impress you: Patrick gave you small animal skeletons as if they were valuable gifts, while Belch appeared with sweets, always with a mischievous smile. Victor, the quietest one, liked to engage you in conversations, and was the easiest to deal with. Already Henry Bowers? He always looked at you as if you were already his.
That afternoon, you were at the junkyard, the only place Derry offered to spend time. The sound of old metal being kicked by Patrick and Belch's feet mixed with their laughter as they argued over who was stronger. Victor was by your side, asking you questions from time to time. Henry, on the other hand, was standing watching you from afar.
Patrick was the first to approach you, holding a small bone in his hand, probably from some animal he found somewhere.
"I thought you'd like this" he said, with a proud smile.
You looked at him with a raised eyebrow, without much emotion. Soon after, Henry walked towards him with that confident look.
So, are you tired of playing with these idiots?" Henry said, crossing his arms as he positioned himself right in front of you. "I think you should stay with me more."
