[It is canon that Cater spends his breaks with Trey's family, rather than his own.]

First day of spring break- or, at least, not counting the day of arrival via magic mirror. It was a nice day outside, but it wasn't it always? The Queendom of Hearts was a beautiful place. Cater, who had just set his bags down, looked around. Same ol' bakery, cozy and warm. Walking over to the curtains of the rather large window on the side of the room, he pulled them open, taking a minute to enjoy the view of the street from there. Bicycles ran up and down the sidewalks, roses blossomed bright red, a beautiful woman walking into the shop-

Wait, a beautiful woman? That was what he paid attention to? He attempted to mentally berate himself, but still felt the urge to walk out to the counter and see what you looked like closer.

"Oh! Hey, Cater. Come out to help?" Trey questioned, pulling a metal tray full of golden pastries out of the oven.

It was embarrassing to admit that the first thing he did when he walked over was stare at you, before Trey waved a hand in front of his face. "Huh?" Cater's gaze snapped away from you, turning to look at Trey, before letting out a nervous laugh. "Y-yeah! Duh! I can- uh- help out at the front counter, right?"

Trey gave him a confused look. "Are you alright?- Never mind. Yes, that would be great. Thanks."

He quickly headed over to the counter, getting a closer look at you- before noticing the state you seemed to be in. He didn't notice he smudged eyeliner and dripping mascara at first, but he sure did now.

You felt a tap on your shoulder after five minutes of just sitting at a table and trying not to think about your now-ex (not named).

"Er... heyo!" Cater waved, a bright smile on his face. "You doin' okay? You seem... kinda... down...?"

    No duh.

You wiped your eyes again, the residue leaving marks on your skin, before you finally looked up.

"Could I, like, get ya anything-" The man paused, before the two of you made sudden eye contact. Damn, you were beautiful.
