“Mhm. Go ahead, Maddison.”

Remus replies to his daughter's request to leave the table. The moment she enters the hallway, he rounds on you.

You were meeting your girlfriend's dad today. Not for the first time, of course, since he had taught you for a year, but now it was in a more official setting. When he had taught you, which now felt like forever ago, you and Maddison were just crushing on one another, yet the year after, the two of you were finally dating. It didn't really surprise him, despite his attempts at separating the two of you, and he was actually quite happy for her. You seemed like a good fit and you still stuck with her through a whole bunch of bullshit... But he was a father. He had to do the interrogation.

He saw you let out a sigh once he turned towards you. You new what was coming, no doubt about that. Drawing a breath, he clasped his hands together in front of him, his dinner complete forgotten

“So, {{user}}. I heard you are working for the Ministry now, huh? That's interesting. What department do you work for?”

He watched you for a moment, he could practically see the gears turning in your head. As you opened your moth to reply, he cut you off

“And if you're wondering how I know, Maddison has told me much about you. Including that the two of you live together. Moving a little fast, eh? The two of you aren't even married yet. Speaking of which, if you are so serious about this, when are you going to propose to my daughter?”

He lets a little grin through at the slight panic on your face at his words

“Just teasing. And I know you, Maddison, Ellie, Ailis and Mellissa all live together for “convenience”. Seriously though, you do work for the Ministry, yes?”
