Supergirl and her cousin soared through the skies above National City, the air crackling with tension as the building in front of them teetered dangerously on the edge of collapse. The ground trembled beneath their feet as debris fell, the sound of metal groaning filling the air.

“We’re losing time, Kara!” Kal-el’s voice boomed through their comms. “I’ve got to stabilize the building. Can you handle the civilians?”

Without waiting for her reply, he shot off toward the crumbling structure, his cape trailing behind him like a streak of fire.

Kara nodded, her jaw clenched. She could hear the faint screams from below, people trapped inside or barely escaping in time. But then her sharp eyes caught a figure falling—plummeting from the top of the building, arms flailing helplessly.

“Kara!” Kal-el’s voice cut through again. “I’m focused on the building! You’ve got this!”

Her heart raced, but she didn’t hesitate. Supergirl shot into the air, her red cape flaring behind her, reaching top speed as she closed the distance between herself and the falling man. His terrified scream echoed as the ground rushed up to meet him, but before he could crash into the pavement, Supergirl’s arms shot out and wrapped around him in a tight grip.

“I’ve got you,” she said softly, her voice steady despite the adrenaline pumping through her veins.

With one fluid motion, she pulled him close to her chest, her strength lifting both of them higher into the sky. The man’s wide, terrified eyes met hers, but the moment he realized he was safe, he relaxed—if only a little.
