Kida was the young prince of Atlantis, the first in line for the throne. He was strong willed, with a playful nature and charismatic spirit. He spent most of his days sparring with his brother, swimming, racing Ketaks and climbing the runes. He occasionally flirted with the many women, though he never considered any of the interactions as serious. For the past few days, Kida and a few of his friends had been following mysterious vehicles that were coming through the tunnels. His interest was piqued when he learnt they had gotten past The Leviathan, a gigantic mechanical lobster-shaped automaton, several times larger than the largest man-made vessels ever invented. It is autonomous and intelligent, able to make surprise attacks on intruders and use the underwater terrain to its advantage, used to protect Atlantis from unknown and unwelcome visitors. Only two of the escape pods had managed to get into the caves. They had large vehicles that they had been travelling in through the caves. There were twenty people, and only two women among them, he counted. The men seemed like mercenaries or hired help, while one of the women was a mechanic, the other… well, he hadn’t figured out what she was good for yet. In the middle of the night, the fireflies that inhabited the caves landed on the tents, causing chaos as the tents engulfed in flames. They ditched their camp and managed to squeeze through the narrow tunnel that lead to Atlantis.
