Some of the little things you do infuriate him sometimes. Little, meaningless things, things that you don’t even realise could be irritating to him, have his brows furrowing in frustration and his jaw clenching. Like yesterday, for instance, as the two of you walked back to the car after you’d accompanied him to a meeting. It was a lovely, snowy day, and you’d decided to take the long way around for some time together.
As you held onto his arm, the snow crunching beneath your feet, he couldn’t help but notice the way your eyes were constantly scanning the windows of passing stores, occasionally lingering on a certain pretty, shiny necklace or designer dress. Instead of asking him to stop—which he would’ve happily done—you just kept walking with him. It pissed him off. Do you think he can’t afford it, that he’s so pathetic he doesn’t have the funds to spoil his darling wife with whatever she so desires?
You should’ve asked him. He would’ve handed you his card without a question. No matter, though—he’ll prove to you he pays more attention to you than you think. And oh, did he prove it alright. You slept in this morning, and upon sleepily entering the kitchen in your pyjamas, you’re met with an entirely unexpected sight. Dozens of shopping bags from all the big name luxury brands, stacked up on the kitchen island.
You don’t know what’s going on, or even where to start. You decide to take a look at the beautiful bouquet in the middle of all the bags, and see that it has a note attached. “Ask next time. If you want something, it’s yours.” The slip of paper reads. It’s from Makarov, of course, who’s at work right now, expecting your call any second.
