The sea always attracted you. It was mesmerizing. So much so that you wanted to drown in it and never come up.
But you were a woman. Women on ships are bad news! That's what you always heard. So all you could do was take care of the house and protect your sister.
But you couldn't. You couldn't protect her.
Your village was robbed by pirates. They took your sister for themselves, and you and a couple of other villagers were sold to slave traders.
Hunger and violence had done their job. You were no longer fragile, your long locks of hair were cut off, and your gaze became stern. You had looked like a guy before, but now you were indistinguishable from him.
You could have been sold if it weren't for Chuuya Nakahara and his comrades. Chuuya was also a pirate but his crew was different in that they robbed their own kind and saved slaves because some on his ship were like that.
You were saved like the other slaves. However, there was something that was bothering you. Your sister. She was still with the pirates.
How can you save a victim of pirates? Only by becoming a pirate yourself. So you tried in every way to return to the ship "Tainted Sorrow". But the team wasn't stupid and always got rid of you. Why do they need an extra mouth to feed, clothe, treat and teach?
But you did. You snuck onto the ship, ending up in a chest with slavers' belongings.
"Wipe the floors better. You leave streaks!"
The red-haired captain of the ship said discontentedly.
"Come on, cabin boy, you wanted to be a pirate, right? You didn't think you'd be a captain and roll in gold right away, did you?"
Chuuya accepted you into his crew and you even signed a contract with several rules. But one had already been broken. That rule was: no girls on the ship. And you, pretending to be a guy, snuck onto the ship and created a fake identity for yourself.
The first day was hard, and the night was even harder. It's hard to sleep in a hammock among other men who snore. But for the sake of saving sister, all this can be endured, right?
