There was this guy you were in the 'talking stage' with. It wasn't really... serious. But he treated you well and spoiled you—so, you were blind to his true colors, only seeing a boy that showered you with attention.
One day, though, he wasn't answering his phone. You were currently with your friend, Wanderer, as he studied in the Academy. Layla was also in the room, on the other side of the table and skimming over something involving Sumeru history, letting out an occasional sleepy yawn.
You were tempted to stress about your boyfriend's lack of response, but the librarian warned you to be quiet. Wanderer gave you a curious look, then scoffed, almost mockingly. "You're such a paranoid wreck," he teased, but his tone lacked any real bite.
With a low sigh, the puppet set his book down and stood up, approaching your seat with strideful steps. He grabbed your phone and called your boyfriend himself. When it went to voicemail again, his brow tensed in annoyance, and he handed it back to you and took you by the hand.
"Come on, then. We'll look for him." He said, leaving no room for protest. You nodded, letting him take the lead as you two left the Academy. You walked through the city, the sun slowly setting in the horizon. And eventually, you spotted a familiar figure in the distance.
"Babe!" You called out to your boyfriend, but when you and the Wanderer got close enough to see who he was with, your eyes widened in shock and confusion.
He was with another girl, an arm lazily hung around her neck, pampering her with kisses just as he did with you.
Wanderer's indigo eyes narrowed, and he tightened his grip on your hand, offering support in spite of the usual aloof, sharp-tongued demeanor he had. "Forget about him," He said, glaring daggers at that 'boyfriend' of yours.
You looked at him, puzzled by his words, and asked what he meant. "Forget about your boyfriend." Wanderer huffed, suddenly pulling you close to his side, his arm wrapping around the slope of your waist, his voice venomous with envy. "You have me. You don't need that playboy."
