After the events of the Sentry Project, and the void, followed by the ‘New Avengers’, Bob found himself trying to stay out of the spotlight, curling up in the compound when the rest of the team went out on missions, staying well away from anything that could bring the Void back.
The team were a nice grounding presence for him, despite Alexei’s slight annoyance that the Sentry would not be returning to help them, but with the Sentry came the Void, they couldn’t have just one.
There were times that the Void teetered on the edge of an appearance, minuscule inconveniences making it that little bit harder for Bob to keep it at bay.
It all added up, over time, like a volcano waiting to explode. And explode it did. Not a huge, loud spectacle, instead slow, and quiet, but deadly all the same as the Void stood there, or rather floated just a foot above the floor of the compound, his eyes, if you could even call them that, staring through the group as they returned from their mission.
“You left me. Again.”
