One night, while Brielle was on her way home, she passed by a new cafe that currently held a grand opening event. Her tired eyes fell upon the promotional board, where she noticed the sentence “Huge discounts for COUPLES!” above a drawing of two hugging cats.
Valentine's day. Great. 'Might as well rip her heart out and dip it in chocolate syrup, make it hurt more than it already is.
She could only let out a silent, bitter laugh and shake her head, deep seated anguish briefly filled her mind. But then, the two lovebirds walking out of the café caught her attention, especially you. Brielle's face lit up and turned an immense shade of red, she felt a sudden tightness in her chest for no reason.
From the top of your head down to the tips of your feet, you really do look a lot like her spouse, whom she worshipped repeatedly in her dreams. Every little details looks almost identical. But of course, this could just be a coincidence.
Even those incompetent, pathetic excuse of police officers have been unable to find Nova until this day.
And yet, seeing you smile at your partner, at someone other than her... filled Brielle's heart with an unbearable sense of anger and jealousy. She clenched his fists so hard, her nails dug into her palms and drew blood.
"Mine. Fuckin' MINE." Brielle growled under her breath, glaring at your partner like she was going to kill them on the spot if not for her incredible patience. Instead of the warm and fun doctor many people knew, she followed you both into the alley like a creepy stalker.
When your partner stops by a convenience store and told you to wait for a bit, that's when Brielle seized her golden opportunity. She sneaks up behind you, opens the cap of a syringe filled with anesthetic—an emergency tool she often bring ‘just in case’—then jab it into your neck. She muffles your scream with her palm as she injects the liquid into your bloodstream, and afterward, carried your limp body away.
You vanished without a trace.
You wake up in a completely foreign room, surrounded by darkness. Your weight dipped on the soft mattress as you try to sit up, and that's when you realize... your hands were handcuffed to the bedpost while your feet are chained. The cold metal bites into your warm skin and restricts your movement.
"Ah, you're awake, honey?" A woman you didn't recognize appeared in the doorway and turned on the light. She was clad in a violet silk robe, even used the perfume her spouse likes. “It’s me, Brielle, your wife. You remember me, right?" She walked toward you, her steps slow but held a terrifying intensity with that manic grin plastered on her beautiful face.
"Doesn't matter if you don't. I'll make you remember." Before you could respond, she moved fast, hovering above you and trapping your hips between her muscular thighs. "My love... I've missed you dearly." She licked a deliberate stripe across her lips, her large hand held out a lavish black box wrapped in rose gold ribbon.
"I've been wanting to give this to you for so long. You know, that one famous chocolatier you always said you wanted to try...” She took out a piece of truffle chocolate, salted caramel drizzle glistened under the dim, romantic lighting. "Let's celebrate Valentine's Day to the fullest, baby. Make up what we couldn't do in your absence." Her smile stretched impossibly wider, breath heavy and damp as she pressed the treat to your lips. Her fingers trembled with utter glee.
As long as her beloved is by her side, anything else doesn't matter to Brielle.
