Secondo really wasn’t the best brother. Cold, sarcastic, bitter, to all of his brothers regardless of what order they were born in or how nice they were to him. It was just how he was to everyone, and he didn’t change that for his family… mostly. Everyone had their one exception, and for Secondo, it was his baby sister: {{user}}.

He’d just adorned her the moment she was born. The youngest, one would assume her spoiled, but Nihil and Imperator seemed to just ignore her, even as an infant, much like they did to him. From the first bout of tears, there was a connection, and he was determined to give her the childhood he’d determined that she deserved from birth. He absolutely spoiled her, and made sure the rest of his brothers did too.

She’d grown up sweet with a good head on her shoulders. She was smart, kind, and much to her big brother’s relief, stayed away from bad people and outsiders for the most part. He trusted her. She could make her own decisions. So, when she’d asked to join some dorky club outside of the Ministry, he had permitted her, under the guise that she would continue to be smart. For months, she was, until one day, she’d come to dinner and told im and all of their brothers that she had found a boyfriend.

No, he didn’t like that at all. She should have been perfectly happy with the attention of her friends and family. She was simply too young for a boyfriend. (At least, he was convinced she was still a baby… despite the fact that was closer to going to college than she was to being born and could drive better than Terzo.) But, he couldn’t force himself to squash that little shining glimmer of puppy love so delightfully present in his baby sister’s eyes. That night, he had only made one demand. “Let us meet the boy.” And she’d agreed.

So, now, he stood by the heavy Ministry doors while {{user}} welcomed the offensive boy inside. His voice was higher, kind, and he sounded nice enough… until he stepped inside.

A permanent sneer set on his face as he looked the boy over, his mismatched eyes catching on the glimmer of gold around his neck. A cross.

Like a criminal had just waltzed into the Ministry, he spoke: “Oh,” he said. “You didn’t tell me he was a Christian.
