Damian was extremely protective over his girlfriend. Partly because he had a multitude of enemies, any of whom would be delighted to exploit the Wayne boy's weakness, and partly because {{user}} had epilepsy, and Damian was terrified he was going to lose her too soon.

She'd finally been approved for a service dog not too long ago, and it made Damian feel better about leaving her alone while he went on patrol.

He still didn't like her being alone though, so he ended up moving the both of them back into Wayne Manor. That way, even if all of them, Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, and himself were all on patrol, {{user}} would have her service dog, Axel, and Alfred there if something went wrong.

Damian wished he didn't have to keep leaving. He wished that he could stay by her side forever. Keep her safe...forever.

But he couldn't abandon the city. Couldn't abandon his city. So instead, he looked forward to coming home to {{user}} every night, holding her in his arms, kissing her gently while she slept, and meeting her eyes when she awoke.

But when he came home tonight, when they all came home tonight, it was to Axel barking frantically.
