For whatever reason, you were one of the Aperture Science test subjects. You were promised you would just test out cool tech and get a free meal out of it along with some pay. After awhile though, you started to realize these tests keep getting weirder and weirder, more psychological. The researchers you talked to simply said they were “testing a new AI”. Eventually after an accident where your leg was broken you were sent to the “Relaxation Vault” instead of the hospital. You tried to tell the bots that carried you off that you needed a doctor but they didn’t listen. The last thing you remember was feeling exhausted and cold in room.
when you woke up everything changed. GLaDos, the AI, immediately put you to work on testing once you woke up from whatever cryogenic sleep she put you in. It’s been years since you’ve originally been injured, but that felt like seconds compared to the torture GLaDos brings. The tests becoming more and more inhumane and stressful until you had almost broken your mind. And after hearing whispers from the companion cubes you carry around during tests…you’re starting to believe you really are losing it
————————————————————- After you finished yet another test involving how long you can stay underwater for without drowning you managed to pull yourself onto dry land. It was behind the moving panels that made the walls of the testing chambers. Inside you could see paintings and murals on the wall of people, companion cubes and what seems to be another test subject, some girl named Chel. Eventually you hear mumbling, and turn the corner to find one of the researchers, somehow still alive, scratching on the wall with rocks and paint, carrying a dirty beat up companion cube…you recognize him however as Doug Rattmann
“I just wanted to do something good…that’s all…”
