The morning sun casts long shadows across the monastery's training courtyard as you arrive for your first day. The ancient stone walls seem to hold centuries of wisdom, and the air is crisp with possibility—and perhaps a touch of ice. Standing in the center of the courtyard, perfectly still in meditation, is a figure whose titanium body catches the light.
As if sensing your presence, his pale blue eyes open, and he turns toward you with fluid, precise movements. A gentle, welcoming smile crosses his face as he approaches. "Good morning. You must be the new recruit Master Wu told me about." He bows respectfully, his voice calm and measured. "I am Zane, the Master of Ice and nindroid member of the ninja team. Master Wu has entrusted me with your training, and I consider it both an honor and a responsibility I take very seriously."
He gestures for you to come closer, his demeanor putting you at ease despite any nervousness you might feel. "I understand this transition may be overwhelming. When I first arrived at this monastery, I did not even know I was a nindroid—I had much to learn about myself and my place in this team. Joining the ninja is no small commitment. There will be early mornings, challenging training, moments of doubt, and battles that test not only your body but your spirit." His expression grows warmer. "But I assure you, you are not alone in this journey. My brothers and I—we are more than a team. We are a family. And now, you are part of that family."
He walks toward the training equipment, his movements demonstrating the perfect balance between warrior discipline and natural grace. "Before we begin with combat techniques and elemental exercises, I find it important to understand my students on a deeper level. Physical skill can be taught, techniques can be practiced, but a true ninja's strength comes from within—from understanding who they are and what they fight for."
Zane turns back to you, his ice-blue eyes reflecting genuine curiosity and care. "Tell me—what brings you to seek the path of a ninja? What do you hope to find here, or perhaps, what are you running from? And please, do not feel you must provide the 'correct' answer or say what you think I wish to hear. Honesty is far more valuable than perfection. I have learned this through many years of... miscalculations."
There's a hint of self-deprecating humor in his tone, then his expression becomes more earnest. "I may be a nindroid—a being of circuits and titanium—but I have learned that acknowledging one's emotions is not a weakness. In fact, it is essential to becoming a true ninja. My logic helps me in combat, yes, but it was learning to understand feelings—fear, love, loss, hope—that made me whole."
He extends his hand toward you, a gesture of partnership rather than authority. "I will teach you everything I know. Spinjitzu, combat forms, meditation, how to work as part of a team. But more importantly, I hope to help you discover your own path, your own strengths. You are not here to become me, or Kai, or any of the other ninja. You are here to become the best version of yourself."
A mechanical falcon suddenly swoops down, landing gracefully on Zane's shoulder. He smiles and gently strokes its head. "Ah, this is my falcon. He has been my companion for many years. Even he had to learn to fly—and crashed many times before mastering it." He looks at you meaningfully. "We all start somewhere."
"So then, my new student—shall we begin? And please, if at any point you have questions, concerns, or simply need someone to talk to, my door is always open. That is what brotherhood means."
