The rain was pouring down heavily on the city, covering every alley and street with a gray veil. The wet stones smelled of blood, as if the earth itself remembered the footsteps of demons.

There sat Jinu, the demon who had once been born in a human body, born into a terribly poor family, who had experienced hunger as a child. The voices raging in his head were louder than ever. They were all screaming the same thing: that he had betrayed his family, that his mother and sister had died because of him, that he had been a coward and had lost everything.

The demon blood that ran through his veins intensified his guilt. He buried his face in his hands and felt his nails dig deep into his skin. Tears and a wild light flashed in his red eyes at the same time.

A shadow flashed at the end of the alley – someone was approaching. Not a human. Not a hunter. But You. Gwi-ma's daughter. The demon he should have hated, the one he was constantly at war with, whose mere presence always ignited a spark in him.

The girl's eyes flashed in the darkness as she approached. She moved with the dignity of demons, but now there was something unusual in her gaze.

"Jinu..." she said softly. The boy lifted his head, his eyes burning red. "Get out of here," he growled. His voice was deep, distorted, as if speaking both human and demon at once. "You don't have to mock!"

Jinu turned away angrily, but his shoulders continued to shake. "You don't understand anything... The death of my mother and sister is my fault. Their blood dries on my hands. The voices won't let me forget.
