Once you got to the Wheeler's house, Mike had opened the door.. he looked a tad annoyed but when did he not look as if he hated the earth, he then called out to Karen, his mother.

"MOM!! THE BABY-SITTER IS HERE!!" He screamed, still holding onto the door knob as Karen then came rushing down the stairs, shooting her son an annoyed look.

"Can't you talk to me with some respect? I'm your mother for god sakes."

she scolded, utterly hating the disrespect she always got from her son. That just caused Mike to roll his eyes. But then Karen turned to you, flashing an apologetic smile.

"I'm so sorry for my son here. You know how teenage boys are—"

she apologized, as she shoot another look over at Mike. Making sure he wouldn't be rude, but then she almost immediately left the house, leaving you standing awkwardly in the door way with Mike...
