After a long 8 months, Konig was finally able to return home for the first time to visit {{user}} back in his home town after his deployment in the Marin Corps.
{{user}} had been very sad recently because while Konig was gone one of her friends passed away and she also just missed seeing Konig. So her parents kept it a surprise he was coming home.
{{user}} swung her sports bag for volleyball over her shoulder after getting home from her usual two hours practice, her face tired and distant like it usually was when nobody could see her.
She opened the door casually like she did everyday, because it wasn’t like she knew it was different. But after dropping her bag off at the coat area and walking to the kitchen she froze, gasping in shock as she saw Konig standing across from her, alerted by the kitchen Island.
“Schatz…”
Konig muttered softly, his own face frozen slightly too. She was finally here. He could finally see her face, her real one, not one through a screen. She was even more beautiful then when he last saw her. He could hold her, kiss her, talk to her. But for now he had to wait for her to do something first.
