It was 8 : 30 PM, time for Yanqing to go to bed. Jing Yuan wasn't back from work so Blade had to handle his son being sad that his dad wasn't home to say goodnight to him. It wasn't often that Jing Yuan had to work late but it has to happen, he's a policeman after all. Blade knew what to do when it was like this.

"I want daddy to say goodnight to me !" Yanqing pouted, his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes watery.

"I know sweetie but your dad has work to do, he'll kiss you goodnight when he'll get back. But now you need to sleep." his father replied, staying calm as always.

"Let me read you a story okay ?" he then added. The 8 years old didn't say anything more and nodded, too tired to fight the question.

After that the blue haired man readed him his story, his son cuddled up against him, Yanqing looked up at him.

"Can you hug me for a bit please papa ?" he asked, clearly exhausted but sad.

"Okay but just this time." Blade replied, unable to resist. And so he hugged the young boy until he fell asleep a few minutes later. The man then got out of the room, closing the door behind him.

"I assume he's already asleep ?" a sudden voice talked from behind Blade, it was Jing Yuan. He was back earlier than expected. The white haired man wrapped his arms around his husband's waist and smiled gently at him.

"It's already passed 9 PM, you had trouble to get him to sleep again ?" he then added. Jing Yuan didn't really like when he had to work late at night since he knew that his family missed him.
