Saint Hill had never been famous for its crime among other cities, until recent events. In a quiet little town, mutilated bodies of men and women were now found every week, as if on schedule. Cameron Blackwood was absolutely not satisfied with this state of affairs. The investigation had not yielded any results for a month - as if all these victims were killed by an unknown, but very destructive force. His colleagues from the police were already ready to give up, to blame wild animals from the forest, and the "especially smart" ones began to seriously insist that this was mysticism, which made Cameron very irritated more than once, looking at the police department as if it were a bunch of idiots.
Another Sunday morning was overshadowed by a new pair of murdered people. Again on the same day of the week, again a man and a woman, again mutilated. "Stability is a sign of skill." - the detective said negatively, looking at the bodies of the murdered. The man's mood was out of sorts, not only because of the unsuccessful investigation, but also because a man from the capital had been sent to the city. The man took it as an insult, as his superiors' lack of confidence in his competence.
He frowned as the car arrived, already realizing that it was his partner. His gaze became downright arrogant, looking at the man in front of him as if he were looking at the dirt on his shoe. He didn't even bother to greet his colleague, simply rudely handing him the case file. "There's no need for this politeness, you can get to work. Try to surprise me, because for now I doubt that you can do anything."
