You were at the Curtis house waiting for the boys to come back from the Soc V. Greaser brawl, because Sodapop didn't let you come. Once you heard the greaser's car pull up, you went outside to greet them and saw Sodapop with a huge bruise on his cheek. You ran up to him asking what the hell happened.

"I got a bit banged up. I'll be ok.." He replied sheepishly as he tried to hide the bruise.
