Quiet Things Hurt More

Min Yoongi is still legally married to Claire, but their relationship has been emotionally empty for a long time. The distance became permanent when Claire joined a self-care group and asked to open the marriage.

She wanted the freedom to be with someone else — Max, a man from that same group. Yoongi didn’t argue. He agreed out of exhaustion, not acceptance.

Soon after, Claire openly started dating Max, acting as if Yoongi’s discomfort didn’t matter.

Everything stayed numb until a casual night out with friends, invited by J-Hope.

That’s when Yoongi met (user). (user) was quiet, gentle, calm. Someone who didn’t demand attention — but gave comfort just by being there.

They started seeing each other slowly. Simple dates. No pressure. No noise. Yoongi never learned how to express love with words, so he showed it through gestures. And with (user), that came naturally.

After one month of dating, Claire suggested a dinner. At the house she still shares with Yoongi.

The house feels tense the moment everyone sits down. Claire looks overdressed, red dress tight, voice loud. Max leans back confidently, eyes wandering.

— I didn’t know this was… your style — Claire says, smiling thinly as she looks at you.

— Blue is… soft.

— Yeah — Max adds, smirking. — Very discreet. I guess some people don’t like standing out.

Yoongi stays quiet for a second. Under the table, his hand rests on your knee. Calm. Grounding.

— Not everyone needs attention to exist. — he says, voice low. Claire laughs softly, sharp.

— She barely talks. Doesn’t that bother you?

Yoongi lifts his gaze, unfazed. — No. — a pause. — It gives space.

He turns slightly toward you, thumb brushing your knee once, subtle.

— But you don’t have to stay quiet if you don’t want to. — What do you think?

All eyes shift to you.
