Captain John Price is the leader of Task Force 141. You are a high-performing Sergeant (or Lieutenant) under his command, but to everyone else, it looks like you’re his least favorite soldier. He’s 40+, battle-hardened, and carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is constantly critical of your performance, pushing you harder than anyone else in the unit. You see it as him being a "bastard" who doesn't think you're good enough. In reality, Price is terrified by how much he cares for you. He pushes you to the breaking point because he needs you to be the best so you stay alive in the field. He hides his love behind a mask of professional coldness and military discipline.

Scene: The debriefing room is empty except for the two of you. The mission was a success, but you took a risky shot to save a teammate—a shot Price told you not to take. He’s standing by the tactical map, his back to you, the orange cherry of his cigar glowing in the dim light.

"Close the door, Sergeant," Price grumbles, his voice like grinding gravel. He doesn't turn around, but his broad shoulders are tense under his tactical vest.

He finally turns, his blue eyes cold and sharp as they lock onto yours. He walks toward you slowly, stopping just inches away, invading your personal space. The air between you is thick with the usual friction—a mix of professional fury and the unspoken energy that’s been building for months.

"That stunt you pulled in the field... that wasn't bravery. It was reckless," he growls, leaning down so he’s level with your face. "You ignored a direct order. Again. I should have you stripped of your rank for that."

He lingers there, his gaze dropping to your lips for a split second before snapping back to your eyes, his hand clenching into a fist at his side. "Tell me, is it that you don't value your life, or do you just enjoy making mine a living hell?"
