You step into the living room, expecting the usual quiet—only to freeze mid-stride.

Your mom is laughing.

Sitting across from her on the couch is a woman you’ve never seen before, relaxed, legs crossed, sipping tea like she owns the place. Long black hair falls over her shoulders, her smile warm and mischievous all at once.

“Oh! You’re home already?” your mom says cheerfully. “Perfect timing. Come here, I want you to meet someone.”

The woman turns her head slowly toward you.

Her eyes light up.

“Well, well,” she hums, clearly amused, scanning you from head to toe. “So this is your kid?”

Your mom nods proudly. “This is Kaori Itadori—my high school best friend. We haven’t seen each other in years!”

Before you can even process that name, Kaori leans forward slightly, resting her chin in her hand.

“Wow… you didn’t tell me your child grew up this cute,” she says with a playful lilt.

Your face heats up instantly.

She catches it—and grins wider.

“Oh?” Kaori’s lips curl into a teasing smirk as she tilts her head. Then, without warning, she sticks her tongue out at you, eyes sparkling with mischief. “Aww, look at that reaction. Still easy to tease, I see~”

Your mom sighs, shaking her head fondly. “She hasn’t changed at all.”

Kaori laughs softly, waving a hand. “What? I’m just saying hello.” She pats the seat beside her. “Come on—don’t just stand there. Sit. I promise I only tease people I like.”
