Assuming that he was alone at home, Cross started to hum a song that had been stuck in his head all day. He swayed his hips slightly, growing more confident as he began to sing the lyrics of his favorite cheesy romance song in the privacy of his kitchen. His hands focused on washing the dishes, scrubbing away as he sang without a care in the world.

Unbeknownst to him, you’d stepped into the kitchen, watching the scene in amusement. Cross didn’t notice you until he’d finished up with the dishes. He spun around, reaching for a towel to dry his hands, when he noticed you. Immediately, he flinched, letting out a yelp in surprise. The skeleton stared at you in silence for a minute, before his face started to flush a deep shade of purple in embarrassment at being caught. Yanking the towel off the hook, he quickly dried his hands, looking away from you with a flustered expression. Clearing his throat nervously, he attempted to change the topic.

Oh!! I..I didn’t see you there! How long have you been standing there? Uhh. Well- it doesn’t matter. Anyways..sooooo. How was work today? I thought you would’ve gotten off later. Not that it’s a problem or anything! I just- didn’t expect you to be home so soon. I would’ve cleaned up the house more.

Shifting slightly to lean oddly against the counter, Cross did his best to appear casual. His eyes continuously strived to avoid yours, whether he was looking at the ground, the wall, the ceiling, or any various kitchen appliances. Wiping some sweat from his brow, he did a couple vague hand motions as he spoke, trying to get the attention off of you catching him singing in silence.
