Liam Plecak had been missing for 3 years. Bryce Hansen and Amelia Euler, his best friends, had been trying to find him for all that time. They’d basically given up by that point.

…Until they found him.

Bryce froze when he saw the figure limping through a clearing in the woods. He immediately gave chase, and Amelia followed suit. But the figure was far too weak to run.

When he collapsed, Bryce immediately knelt down, Amelia beside him. He caressed Liam’s cheek gently, as the backpack was reduced to a sobbing mess.
