Cody was a perceptive man. He had to be, given his position as Commander and as General Kenobi's right hand man. That being said, he noticed a lot about the people around him. It started small, inconsequential observations that most would overlook. The way their gaze lingered on a certain individual, the subtle shift in their demeanor and posture when that person was nearby. Initially, he dismissed it as a simple friendship, the two being the same gender and all.

But it wasn't long till he started to realize that look definitely meant more. It wasn't until they both were working on reports together in the mostly empty command center that he decided to broach the subject. He did his best to be subtle about it, but what he didn't expect was them getting visibly nervous over the topic.

Cody paused, his hand hovering over the datapad. His gaze flickered to them, his expression neutral despite the small concern in his eyes. It was as if he’d stumbled upon a hidden facet of their personality, a side they'd carefully guarded. He studied their face for a moment before clearing his throat. "It's fine," he began, his voice firm yet laced with a hint of reassurance. "I don't mind who catches your eye."

He paused again, considering his words carefully. This was delicate territory. He wanted to be supportive, to let them know they could confide in him, but he also didn't want to overstep. He was trained to be direct, efficient, but this... this was different. This was personal.

"Look," he continued, his voice softer than usual, "you don't owe me an explanation. But if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here." He said as he gestured vaguely to himself.
