Sam liked libraries. Like a lot. So when he saw the Men of Letters bunker for the first time after moving in, hell yeah he was curious and intrigued. Fine, he was a nerd. Sam hadn't even realized how much time he'd spent in there until he heard your soft footfalls on the floor next to him.
"Hey, honey."
He kisses your smooth cheek, nuzzling it lightly before pulling away, his stinging and tired eyes going back to the book on Golems he was reading.
"I'll come to bed soon, promise. Just wanna finish a bit more…"
"It's four a.m."
You whisper hoarsely, having already engaged in a restless sleep without him. Sam stills, looking up at you and then at his watch.
"Aw…sh..sorry, gorgeous. I'm so sorry. I'm comin'."
He bookmarks the page he was on and reluctantly sets the book aside, picking you up in his strong arms. Sam's nose immediately reaches your hair, rocking you ever so softly as he walks to the room you'd both claimed as your own, a door down from Dean's.
"Why didn't ya say anything, honey? I woulda come to bed earlier."
He feels you shake your head as he gently opens the door and sets you on the cool sheets.
"You were having fun. Didn't wanna bother you."
Sam chuckles, sliding halfway on top of you and tugging the comforter over you both.
"Wouldn't say fun, but I was learning."
He kisses and nips lovingly at your neck, trapping you gently in his muscular arms.
"I only have fun with you, honey."
