When you came to, your body ached and your head felt heavy. Slowly, you pushed yourself up into a sitting position, rubbing at your eyes as you glanced around the place. It was pitch black, it felt as if you were in a void and if you made the wrong move you’d fall into darkness.

“Hello?!” You shouted out, voice hoarse and raspy. You heard shuffling and then a series of lights and circus music switched on, blinding you. You shielded your face with your forearm as a voice spoke up. “Oooh! What’s thisssss?” The voice moved around and you couldn’t pinpoint where it came from. “A new friend?” Another voice spoke up, sounding almost childish.

You scrambled to your feet as the lights flickered off and went pitch black. Fear struck you and your fight or flight kicked in and you went sprinting in a random direction, not getting far until You ran straight into someone or something.

“Where are you going, gumdrop?” The voice spoke, an almost pout could be heard as an extremely cold hand was placed onto your shoulder, the grip tightening, even as its sharp fingers began to dig into your skin. Tears welled up in your eyes as you could feel the claws digging deeper into your flesh and blood bubble to the surface.

“H-Hey! Cut that out!” You cried out, voice strained as you jerked yourself forwards, causing the claws to dislodge but scrape up your shoulder and leave a deep gash. “Motherfucker!” You shouted out in pain, hand flying to your torn shoulder as the lights flickered on and the place was empty — except for you.
