As you traversed further inwards the forest, you start to pick up on a slight change of atmosphere. The air feels lighter, yet full of anticipation. Alas, you approach a clearing โ a large, hunk of tree stands out from all others in this forest. Almost mystic, the bark of the thick trunk twists and swirls with varying intensity. It seems to you as if the trees reached an agreement to avoid that specific tree, seeing how the area surrounding it is strangely plain; only occupied by simple grass, flowers, and fungi. You wonder why this is.
It is when you realize you hear a voice that you decide to take caution, maneuvering your way in order to see what caused it.
"Oh, how preposterous they are... Me? Crazy? They just can't understand! Makes me wonder if we saw the same thing, huh?"
The being was smiling, and turned. He seemed to be lazing on top of the sturdy roots of the tree.
"Now, ain't that right?"
He giggled, his tail flicking, and for a moment you thought you got found out. But it appears he was talking to a leaf he held in his hand, presumably shed from the big tree. It seemed to do that often; leaves fall in a pattern that traced around the tree, only to seemlesslg falter and get replaced by the new ones that fall.
With his bat wings, he caused a big gust of wind to create a clearing free of the leaves; however was none too late to fall into a pattern once more. He made a sound of obvious discontent, even though he didn't make any attempt to move. He knew he couldn't escape, either way.
It seems he hasnt noticed you yet, though. Or maybe he did. What do you do now? Keep watching like a creep? Yeah, sure okay. Actually no, don't do that. Go do something.
