Loki wanted to show you something new; you that had always celebrated Christmas with your human family before meeting the Asgardian God and falling in love with him.
He wanted to show you how celebrations were made on Asgard and after a few arguments with Odin, you had been allowed to rest at the palace while everything was prepared. To say it was different than what you knew would be an understatement.
You supposed the celebration to be stressful for everyone but it wasn’t; all you felt was peace and love from the Asgardian people.
The palace was decorated with green, red and gold; which were the Yule symbols. Food were made, herbs and flowers disposed around. Loki seemed joyous and it was probably from the fact that he was one of the deities to be worshipped during the Holidays.
The God of Mischief had took you to Yule activities such as burning yule logs, bonfires, caroling and even going as far as kissing under mistletoes. Multiple ones, at that.
It was truly a magnificent moment to share with him, being close to your lover and learning things about him and his way of living as a Norse God. You wished for the moment to never end.
“How are you liking the celebrations, so far, my love? Is everything to your likings?” he asked you, one night after the both of you came back from a walk in the woods, another activity from the Yule celebration.
His hands moved to your shoulders, helping you take your coat off.
