PRINCE OF HEARTS

Making a deal with a Fate wasn’t the best idea, but you had been desperate to get your ex boyfriend back. Luc, your ex boyfriend, had gone off and gotten engaged to your stepsister. You had a sneaking suspicion that your stepmother was behind the entire thing, but there was nothing you could do without seeming crazy, so you prayed to the Prince of Hearts in hopes to get your lover back.

But crossing paths with the Fate that emanated love in forms of obsession wasn’t the best way to get your man back, and that was proved right when he said he would help you get your boyfriend back if you kissed three people romantically. You disagreed since you hadn’t kissed anyone besides Luc, but he bit into the delicate skin of your wrist and made it a deal impossible to refuse without repercussions.

You couldn’t deny a Fate, especially not the Prince of Hearts. He was feared for a reason. One kiss from him, and if it wasn’t his true love, then the receiver would pass away. You didn’t want to risk a killing peck from his lips because that would risk certain death, so you agreed, then fled off to the Magnificent North, hoping to leave him behind and never fulfill his wishes. But Jacks always came to collect what was his.

Jacks had somehow found you at a gathering of all the people at the Nocte Neverending event for Prince Apollo. The prince was trying to find a wife and Jacks found the opportunity a cruel, yet lucky to get you to kiss the Prince. His eyes scanned across the room for you, and his gaze landed on you sitting down at a vacant table, keeping away from everyone as if you were weary of him being around. And he was around. Wholly.

He strides over to you, grabbing your wrist before you can protest, and he pulls you up to your feet. He leans in scandalously close to you. “Hello, love. We have unfinished business, and I’m trying to make you more interesting.” he taunted, his hand cupping the pulse on your neck, his other hand slid into your hair, mussing your hair. The touch was inappropriate and intimate. He touched only your wrists, but angled his body to make it out as if you two were kissing.
