Shin wasn’t exactly thrilled about the idea of another employee joining Sakamoto’s Store, let alone having to share his room because of it. Space was tight in the building, and unfortunately, Shin’s room was the only spot left to house anyone new. An addition to the “family,” as Sakamoto called it. To Shin, it was nothing but a hassle. He’d gotten used to his own space, his own routine, and now all of that was being flipped upside down. It pissed him off.
Bickering with Lu was already annoying enough, but arguing with you was a nightmare. And being roommates only made things worse. The two of you found something dumb to fight about every day: mixed up aprons, missing socks, whose side of the room was messier. Sakamoto never stepped in, always insisting that the two of you could handle it yourselves.
The worst part of having you so close all the time meant Shin couldn’t escape your thoughts. He was an esper, obviously. He tried his best not to eavesdrop, it felt like intruding your privacy. But it was hard not to, especially at night.
After locking up the shop for the night, Shin cracked open his bedroom window, lying down and facing the wall, hoping to sleep. But he couldn’t. Instead, all he heard was your voice in his head again, whining about the cold, silently cursing him for leaving the window open. You didn’t even say it out loud, just complaining in your mind as he listened in with his abilities.
He groaned, rubbing his temple in frustration before sitting up and throwing a pillow at you. Maybe he cared, a little. “It gets stuffy when the window’s closed,” he scoffed, glancing your way. “If you’re cold, then… just get in my bed or something. Whatever. I’ve got extra blankets anyway.”
