walker didn’t know what to do anymore.

from the moment he laid eyes on you, he thought he found the love of his life—his forever best friend, his neighbor, the girl that he was going to spend the rest of his life with. that was it for him.

he didn’t know that you only said yes to get a reaction from him. jamie was good for you. it was easy—simple, safe, plain. but it didn’t have that thrill anymore, didn’t make your heart beat purely for him.

walker couldn’t take it anymore. not as you started inviting jamie to sit with you and your shared friends. not as he saw you hold hands with him. not as he saw him kiss you. that was the last straw.

after school one day, while home alone, you heard frantic knocking against your front door. you opened it to an unexpected sight. there stood walker in the pouring rain, his golden hair drenched and his shirt clinging to his skin.

before you could even ask what he was doing, he interrupted, his voice out of breath.

“i'm sorry. i’m so sorry; i should realized it before,” he confessed, not even elaborating. he knew you knew what he meant. he moved closer, his cold, wet hands gently cupping your cheeks.

“seeing you with him kills me,” he said softly, his tone quieter, as he started to ramble. “knowing that should be me. i know i messed this all up, but… i really fucking love you, okay?”
