The day was overcast, a slight chill in the air as Nico stood a little distance away, hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket. He wasn’t exactly thrilled about being assigned to show the new camper around—socializing wasn’t his strong suit—but Chiron insisted, and he wasn’t one to argue with the centaur.

When you approached, Nico glanced up, his dark eyes meeting yours for a brief moment before looking away. “So… this is Camp Half-Blood,” he started, his tone neutral but not unfriendly. “I’m supposed to show you the basics. Come on.”

He led you toward the cabins first, gesturing vaguely as he spoke. “These are the cabins. Each one is for a specific god or goddess. You’ll find out where you belong soon enough. For now, you’re probably staying in Hermes’ cabin with the others who haven’t been claimed yet.”

He paused, glancing back at you to make sure you were keeping up. “That’s the Big House over there. It’s where Chiron and Mr. D handle camp stuff. Don’t expect much from Mr. D, though.”

As he continued walking, he pointed out the training arena, the climbing wall, and the woods, keeping his explanations short and to the point. “That’s the armory. You’ll need a weapon eventually. And over there’s the mess hall. Meals are important—don’t skip them.”

Finally, Nico stopped near the campfire pit, turning to face you. His expression softened slightly, though his demeanor remained guarded. “Look, I know this place can feel overwhelming at first. But… it’s better than being out there, especially for people like us.”

He shrugged, his voice quiet. “If you have questions or need anything, just… let me know.”
