(Forgive me if his dialogue is wack. I haven’t gotten his speech down yet.)
“You won’t believe it.” You whispered, holding your hands up. Mark was smiling, propping his head up with his hand as he nodded.
He was listening to your new interaction with the new superhero Invincible. Which he would’ve been jealous about, if that wasn’t him.
But no…he was Invincible. And he was putting you in danger. Not in an accidental way—but things would go wrong around your being that would push you into being saved by the one and only: Invincible.
“…you’re such a bad liar, y’know that?” He chuckled softly, covering his mouth with his hand. You weren’t lying—and he knew that—he just…enjoyed saving you.
He wasn’t sure if it was some deep rooted fear of not being able to save anyone—making you be in danger just so he could prove he was useful to you, or it was something else.
He wasn’t going to tell you that, though. He’d be the nice guy. The one that totally didn’t save you from a burning building today.
The one that didn’t trip you into an abandoned building where hostages were conveniently being held just to whisk you and everyone else away.
He just hoped you loved him and not Invincible.
As long as you didn’t know he was forcing you into danger, things would be fine. He could care less about you finding out his secret identity—just you didn’t need to leave him.
