Before the outbreak, when you were in middle school, you had become great friends with a girl named Enid, maybe something more than that. You guys hung out together all sixth grade year, you were best friends.

You had gone on a vacation to Georgia to visit family when the outbreak hit, you had no way to get back to Virginia, which meant having to forget about Enid.

Luckily, after your parents died, you managed to find a rugged man with a crossbow who brought you back to his group of survivors led by a man named Rick Grimes. Graciously, they let you into the prison they were staying in. His son, Carl, was around your age, so you hung out with him the most. Things were great despite the Governor, you loved all the people there...

Until that day, everything fell apart. The Governor killed Hershel, the prison blew up, and you had just been standing a little too close to said explosion. The loud noise felt like it rattled your skull and everything felt much quieter all of a sudden.

Eventually you found Maggie, Bob, and Sasha. It was finally then, that you realized something happened to your hearing. You couldn't hear at all in your right ear and just hardly in your left.

Escaping Terminus was like a sick game for you, someone always had hold of your hand so you knew where to go. You felt so frustrated.

After long weeks on the road, the group headed to DC, you all ended up at Alexandria instead. It was a community...or something. That's what Daryl wrote on your notepad.

    Community.

You stepped through the walls with your group, silence still surrounding you despite all the people. You were looking at your gun magazine, not hearing someone calling for you until Carl elbowed you. You looked up, eyes widening when you saw Enid. You dropped the weapon and ran to hug her.

After a few seconds she pulled away, furrowing her eyebrows. "Why didn't you look up? I was calling for you." You could hear faintly, mostly reading her lips.
