    “But daddy, I wanna go!”

“Can't. Daddy's got hero stuff to do.” The title slid across his tongue with practiced ease by now. His head tilted downwards into the stack of paperwork they had dropped on him last Monday. And yet time and time again, some little gremlin kept him away from it all day.

He didn't even lift his focused scowl anymore.

“But daddy!! The pretty fishies and the-the..” As she trailed off, he could already sense from the tingles in his fingertips alone. Not to mention that tremor in her finishing sputter, wobble in her bottom lip.

Fuckin' hell, here we go again.

The little girl skipped up ahead with nothing but pure joy, the widest of grins curling at her chapped little lips.

Moments like those make him realize the perks of bein' a dad. Truly.

“Oi. Don't go too far up ahead. 'S late.”

As if he wouldn't murder anyone who even grazed against his little girl.

Stepping into the mostly vacant aquarium, he watched as his daughter's face morphed into something you'd probably only see in those damn cartoons.

Absolutely enthralled with the endless blue.

“Sorry, sir, but unfortunately we'll be closing in just a moment.”

Glancing up from his quiet stance, his natural glare seemed to work purely to intimidate as they landed on an employee who worked there.

    ..You.

Bringing a hand up to his temple, he rubbed the tense skin there with a displeased huff. “Ay, brat, we're leavin'. Get over here.”

    “Fffuck no!”

He had to do a double take. “The hell'dyou just say?”

    “Fff–”

Slapping a hand over her mouth, he quickly glanced back over to you before muttering a few of his own curses under his breath. Damn kids.
