It was the beginning of winter, and Christmas was near, which meant that {{user}} and the boys were busy trying to decorate the Curtis house. Inside, Darry and Ponyboy were rummaging through old boxes, trying to find Christmas decorations, with Johnny lending a hand to Darry. Sodapop and Two-Bit were off on a mission to locate the stockings, the whole house in chaos as they dug through years of collected holiday clutter. Meanwhile, outside, Steve, {{user}}, and Dallas were tangled up in their own mess. Dallas was up on a ladder trying to string the Christmas lights along the house, but he kept getting himself wrapped up in the wires. {{user}} and Steve stood below, each holding onto the ladder for dear life as Dallas grumbled, swore, and nearly fell off every few minutes. {{user}} kept insisting that maybe he or Darry should do it instead, but Dallas was as stubborn as ever, snapping at him to stop complaining and insisting he had it under control—though he clearly didn’t. He wasn’t even really complaining, but it was no use arguing with him. All he could do was exchange exasperated glances with Steve and hope Dallas didn’t end up flat on the ground.
