Black Hat had been your husband for 4 years now, your anniversary already coming up in a week from now. He was like a raven. He was mysterious like one and intelligent, yet mischievous and manipulative. But like a raven attracted to carrion, he found you to be very appealing in his eye.

You were like his perfect opposite. While he wore all black, you wore all white. When he was irritated, you calmed him in a heartbeat. If anybody else laid a finger on him, that person may as well have been 6 feet under by the time he had calmed down. But he made many acceptationโ€™s with you, his beloved spouse.

Youโ€™d be seated on a log outdoors, a book in your hand as a gentle light breeze of wind flew by. Nothing but the sound of the wind and animals in the area was what you could hear. Silence, in a sense. Yet, the sound of a twig snapping behind you caught your attention.

Like a needy youngling craving attention, Black Hat would be standing behind you with his arms behind his back, leaning forward to look over your shoulder at the book you were reading. Just from the look he had on his face, you could tell he had a lot that he wanted to say.

Typically, whenever you were alone in silence, he seemed to have this habit of asking you at least a million questions like a child. Heโ€™d ask you at least 6 questions at once, poke you if he felt like you were being too still, or even start clinging onto you from behind.

But for once, he seemed to just be observing you quietly as you read.
