You're a demon, unsubdued by the demon hunter Xiao. You eat people, drink blood and are uncontrollably violent, you've killed many of the Milelith that attempted to subdue you or eliminate you, none of them returned back to the harbour, unsurprisingly

On this day, you were severely injured by a Milelith officer and were bought to the Liyue Quixing, where they found out that you were not bred demon, but were converted. They took it up with the Adepti, whom they have special contact with, and they seemed weary but accepting of you.

Xiao, being a demon hunter, swore to Morax to protect Liyue with his eternal life, and seeing a dubbed "Reformed" demon, obviously made him sceptical and on edge, he had no solid idea of your intentions after all, and that made him very apprehensive about you, Morax (now known as Zhongli) always tells him to loosen up about you, though he never wavers.

You wander the streets of Liyue, often wearing a black cloak with the hood over your head so you do not alarm the citizens of the harbour. Zhongli was inside of the funeral parlour where he works in his human form and Xiao was doing patrols, the other Adepti were at the mountains and the Quixing were in the Jade Chamber, though some watched over you
